Nordic Watercolour 2025 Exhibition
Thank you for all your applications to this exhibition. The jury has now completed their evaluations. Out of the 501 submissions from 182 members, 101 works from 67 artists were selected. Members of the jury were the artists Pia Brix Thomsen and Peter Vilhelm Nielsen plus Sidsel Wiis who represented Frederikshavn Kunstmuseum. All the submitted works were anonymized before being presented to the jury.
Please find the list of selected artists below. We look forward to welcoming you to the opening on 13th September at Frederikshavn Kunstmuseum. The exhibition may be seen until 25th October 2025

Who may apply
All NAS-members who have paid their membership fee when submitting their entries to the jury. You are welcome to become a member at the same time as submitting your files.
Jury evaluation is performed digitally
Photo files of 1-3 works must be sent by mail to nasjury@gmail.com by 1st May 2025.
Each member may send 1, 2, or 3 files to the jury. The jury may choose to select any, all, or none f the submitted entries.
Digital files
Conditions for submitting digital files to the jury:
Photos must bear as close resemblance to the original works as possible and must be sent as high-resolution jpg files (1-5 mB).
The photos of the accepted works will be used in the printed catalogue. Therefore it is important, that all photos are of supreme quality.
When taking the photos, please make sure that the rendition of colours is as correct as possible. Show the whole area of the work, but without including anything else in the background (table, masking tape, framing etc.)
The name of the files or the information in the mail must include: Your NAS membership number, the title of the work, the size of the original work (height x width cm). It must be obvious which information belongs to which file.
Conditions
The original works must be in pure watercolour technique, but a small amount of mixed media will be accepted. Subject/theme is free.
There are no regulations for size of original work. Large formats are welcome. Untraditional and experimental works are also welcome.
The works must not have been shown at previous exhibitions organized by NAS or to which NAS has been invited or participated.
Accepted works
Participants who get works accepted will receive a message regarding dates and forwarding address. All works will be displayed without any glazing or framing. You are welcome to mount your works in cardboard mounts/matts (passepartout). In all case the works must be delivered ready for hanging. More information regarding hanging will follow. All works must appear neat and presentable.
Jury fee/Hanging fee
Jury fee must be paid when submitting your application. The jury fee covers evalutation of 1-3 works.
Hanging fee is payable for accepted artists (regardless of number of accepted works). The hanging fee includes 1 copy of the exhibition catalogue.
Jury fee: 255 DKK / 390 SEK / 390 NOK / 5000 ISK / 34 EUR
Hanging fee: 320 DKK / 490 SEK / 490 NOK / 6.230 ISK / 43 EUR
Fees must be transferred to your national bank account (same account as used for membership fee). See all bank account information here
Shipment to and from the exhibition hall is at the artist’s cost and risk. This also applies to any transport insurance. During the exhibition, the insurance is covered by Frederikshavn Art Museum
Sales of works
Frederikshavn Art Museum handles any sales of works. All accepted works must be priced for sale. The museum charges a 30% commission
Time schedule
by 1st May – digital files submitted for the jury 1. maj – indsendelse af digitalfiler til jurybedømmelse
by 1st may – payment of jury feesenest 1. maj – indbetaling af jurygebyr
by 2oth June – notice to alle participants regarding acceptance or rejection
