ECWS 2026 Gdansk, Poland
Call for entries Deadline 22 February 2026
The Nordic Watercolour Society participates in international group exhibitions on a regular basis. ECWS (European Confederation of European Watercolour Societies) is an organisation comprising of several European watercolour associations. The associations take turns in hosting annual exhibitions and symposiums. NAS has been a member since 2000.
We on the board of NAS encourage the members to apply for the ECWS 2026 exhibition which will take place in Gdansk 10–30 September 2026 with the symposium on 7-13 September. You may apply by paying the application fee and submitting a digital jpg image (1-2 Mb) before 22nd February to: jurynasecws@gmail.com
The original work must be unsigned or the signature must have been covered/omitted from the photo file.

30EUR/350NOK/330SEK/225DKK/4370ISK to be paid to the national NAS account.
Please include the text “ECWS + your NAS member number”.
A jury consisting of NAS country representatives will select 40 works/artists to represent NAS in Gdansk in 2026. This is a record-breaking number of participants and we hope for a considerable interest for participating. Further information will be announced in akvarellen 1-2026 but we hereby give you the opportunity to start painting immediately for the event.
Paper format is full size (56x76cm) or half size sheet (56x38cm) landscape or portrait format. Reserve 3cm for mounting. Motive is free. The painting must be an original work that never has been exhibited previously in any ECWS event. Applicants will be informed of the outcome by week 11. Accepted artists will receive further information regarding a continued exhibition in Sweden during the autumn of 2026.
The estimated cost for particpating in the exhibition is 100€ + shipment. The estimated cost for participating in the symposium is 170€. The programme will be announced later.
