Nordisk Akvarell (Nordic Watercolour) is a triennial juried exhibition for members of the Nordic Watercolour Society. This year the exhibition will take place in Finland.

Nordisk Akvarell är en jurybedömd utställning som anordnas av Nordiska Akvarellsälskapet för medlemmar vart tredje år. Denna gång kommer utställningen att hållas i Tykö i Finland. Svensk text finnas här.

Who can apply for this exhibition?
All members of the Nordic Watercolour Society.

What is the procedure?
You are welcome to submit up to 3 entries per member. The entries must be sent as digital photo files to nasjury@gmail.com
The files will be anonymised and presented to a jury who will select the works to be shown at the exhibition. The selected artists will be notified and when the works are received, they will be photographed for the catalogue and prepared for hanging.

Where will the exhibition take place?
The exhibition is arranged by the Nordic Watercolour Society together with Tykö Masung. The exhibition will be shown in an old industrial building complex in Tykö, Finland http://teijonmasuuni.fi

Which images may be submitted?
Original works of watercolour, to some minor extent mixed media may be accepted. Free theme/subject matter. The works may not previously have been shown at any NAS-event or at any exhibition where NAS has been invited to participate. The works can be framed or unframed. We have frames in sizes of 50×70 cm or 40x50cm.

Digital files
Digital photo files must be sent to the jury. Max 3 works per member. Files must be of high quality (1-5 MB) without any framing or background and must be representative of the original works. Send the files to nasjury@gmail.com
Please include the following information: Member number, name, title, original size.

Jury
The photo files will be juried anonymously. The jury consists of Pive Toivonen (co-ordinator), Satu Kiljunen, visual artist, honorary doctor at the Art University, and Kati Immonen, watercolour artist.

Winsor & Newton Nordic Watercolour Award
From the selected participants, Winsor & Newton will choose an artist to receive the Winsor & Newton Nordic Watercolour Award. The prize consists of a choice of Winsor & Newton art materials at a value of 500 Euros

Cost
You must be a member of NAS – the Nordic Watercolour Society – to submit your entries. There will be an entry fee (jury fee) for all who submit works to the jury. For the selected artists there will be a hanging fee. In the hanging fee is included 1 catalogue per artist. Any shipment and/or insurance costs are to be covered by the artist. See price and payment information below.

Time schedule
1 August 2019: Entries and entry fee must be received
1 September 2019: Notification to selected artists
30 September 2019: Original works received in Finland (Address: Helkky Toivonen, Laanilantie 70, 215 70 Sauvo, Finland)
30 September 2019: Hanging fee must be received
23 November 2019: Exhibition opening

The exhibition will be open from 23 November 2019 – 31 May 2020
